On September 16, 2006, Andrea and I had a wedding celebration in Santa Barbara. We were surrounded by 50 of our closest family and friends and the day could not have been better. The ceremony kicked off at 3:30 at the Douglas Family Preserve with our friend Leanna doing the honors as the officiant. After the ceremony we all enjoyed the view and champagne. A sea lion made an appearance in the clear waters below the bluffs and we watched him chase a sand shark as people mingled and took pictures. The reception started at 5 at our friend Dale’s house where there was music, drinks, food and lots of fun.
Family and friends started arriving in Santa Barbara on Thursday. Bob and Deborah flew in to Santa Barbara from Texas and I picked them up at the airport. My parents also arrived around the same time and later in the day, Andrea’s mom and Jen and Bill drove up from San Diego. We had dinner at Harry’s so that my parents and Andrea’s mom and sister could meet.

On Friday morning, Andrea, Jen, Bill and I went over to Dale’s house where the reception was going to be to start decorating. The caterers had delivered all of the tables and we had to set them up as well as put up all the decorations.

Meanwhile, while we were setting up, my parent’s were picking Kurt up from the airport then we all met at DFP for the rehearsal.

After the rehearsal, we took off for the rehearsal mixer that was planned at the Santa Barbara Vintners on Stearn’s Wharf. A lot of other family members had also arrived in the meantime. Eventually everyone found the spot on the wharf. All of our Santa Barbara based friends had brought food and the vintners started pouring wine.

The next morning, we had to buy flowers, finish decorating at Dale’s house then get ready for the main event. We were so pressed for time that Andrea, Jen, Bill and I ended up eating at McDonalds then going to the farmers’ market to buy flowers.
