A Lovely Thursday for a ….

Friday, April 21st, 2006

Andrea and I have been engaged since Valentines Day. We decided to stop messing around so we went to the Ada County Courthouse yesterday and got married! It was a beautiful day for a wedding, even if it was in a Judge’s chambers. We both just took it all in, smelled the flowers and the trees and enjoyed ourselves and our official commitment to each other. The Judge was a good guy and gave us a small ceremony in his chambers. He then wished us good luck, we took a couple pictures with him and we were off. We went home, changed our clothes and headed to the river with the dog. It was so nice with the birds chirping, the (almost floodstage) river flowing by and all the trees turning green. Dusty even got to go swimming in Boise Cascade Lake (what a horrible name for an otherwise nice little lake).

We’re still planning on having a “real” wedding. Probably this fall at an undisclosed location (hey, maybe Dick Cheney will be there and we can pelt him with eggs :)). Getting married early will allow us to focus more on throwing a good party and be less stressed about the actual wedding part. We’re thinking this will work out well for all involved :)
